Assessment Tool Roles

The Assessment Tool operates a roles based security system. This means that what you can do within the Assessment Tool is determined by the role that you hold.

For all users other than Learners, this will be the role (or roles) that you have been allocated by the Education Sector Authentication and Authorisation system (ESAA).

Educators are users of the system who set Assessments for Learners. They can use the Grouping functions to group Learners together (in Educator Groups) for assigning or reporting on Assessments, and can view Reports on individuals and Groups. Educators can only see Learners and Learner information in the system if they have been given access to that Learner by an Organisation Administrator.

Organisation Administrators are users of the system who have special privileges relating to reporting, viewing users and Reports, and creating Organisation Groups. The Organisation Administrator is able to control the access privileges of Educators by creating Organisation Groups and assigning Learners and Educators to them.

Learners are users of the system who are being assessed. They have access to the Assessment Tool only to sit Assessments and to view their Assessments results.
